Quahbi sets up his easel and drawing pad nearly every day, in the Hauptstrasse of Heidelberg. He is bundled against the cold of this March day as the drips of melting snow from the balcony above threaten to dampen his samples of art he places out for the tourist to see.
This is his life, the creation of art. This is how he pays his rent, buys his food and takes care of the daily necessities. Will God and the people smile on him today? Many days he goes home empty handed. Winter is hard for this artist. What person wants to sit in the cold to have a fine portrait drawn as the skies threaten to snow or rain?
He is a sought-after artist and when the weather is more agreeable he will be busy. His works shown here attest to his talent. He has done many live portraits here in at the "Kunstecke", this fine old building across from the statue of Dr. Bunsen (of the Bunsen burner fame). But Quahbi also does many portraits from photos in greater detail and varied media. He is a true artist of the 'old school' of artists.
Please enjoy a sample of his works here.
